About the Range
Humphries Archery has teamed up with 11 sponsors to offer one of only a few motion target pop-up 3D archery shooting systems in the world. A round is 5 shootable targets, which are lifelike replicas of game animals such as bear, deer, mountain goat, turkey and javelina. The system has 11 moving targets, which the computer system picks at random. In each round 5 of the 11 targets will stand and present a shot. After a round all targets that were presented in the round will stand to be scored.
Fun Shoots for All Levels, All Ages
The range will be open to all comers, all day Friday, Saturday till 4 pm and all day Sunday. A separate kids’ range will also be available throughout the show, with kids’ equipment and expert instruction on hand.

Tournament – qualifying rounds and scoring
A round is 5 shoot able targets, The motion target system has 11 moving targets, which the computer system picks at random. In a round, 5 of the 11 targets will stand and present a shot. After a round all targets that were presented in the round will stand to be scored. Two individuals will score the targets based on the score rings on the animal. Each animal has 3 score rings: a vital ring surrounding the vital area of the animal which scores as an 8, a ring inside of the vitals which scores as a 10, and a ring inside of the 10 ring that scores as a 12. Any arrow that strikes outside of the rings but still in the body and remains in the foam will score as a 5. A qualifying round consists of two rounds of 5 arrows each for a total of 120 points possible.
If it qualifies, the score of 10 arrows is placed on the board in one of the 32 slots available. As the board advances and shooters are placed on and taken off, the shooter is responsible to watch his/her score to know whether or not a requalify is needed. Requalifies are available for purchase for $10 at any time before 4pm Saturday. (Fun/practice rounds are available throughout the shoot and are open to all without any further obligation. However fun rounds are subject to line availability, Qualifying and requalifying rounds will take precedence over fun/practice rounds.)
Tournament – Shoot Off and handicap details
Handicaps are established to level the playing field. The motion target system is capable of running at 3 different speeds: slow, medium and fast (beginner, advanced, pro). Qualifying rounds are shot on the beginner speed. When the 32 qualifiers are established, the high shooter will set the pro speed bracket based on his or her qualifying score. Anyone that falls within 10 points of that score will be placed in the pro bracket and will shoot 6 seconds per target faster than what they qualified at. For example if John is our high score in the #1 spot with a score of 100 points, anyone who falls between 100 and 90 points will be in the pro brackets. Anyone who falls between 89 and 79 will be in the advanced round (3 seconds per target faster) anyone left on the board between 78 and down will shoot in the beginner bracket, (or qualifying speed). With handicaps established shooters will be bracketed on the shooting board 1-32 with a single elimination tournament. #1 shooter will shoot against #32 and #2 against #31and so on. Shooters may not be head to head in the tournament due to the speed differences. However if a shooter ever breaks his/her speed bracket (pro, adv, beg) he/she will advance to the next speed bracket. Shooters may advance in speed but may not go down. We will fill the line with 4 shooters whenever possible. Shooters will be required to have 5 matching arrows with them at the line. Because the computer chooses the scenarios, every round will differ and some may be easier than others due to the range and size of the target.
